This cozy 1BR/1 EN-SUITE bush cabin in peaceful Fern Gulley Retreat belongs to Jan & Jeremy (formerly Directors of Global Gypsies Tours) & is their much-loved home away from home. Located just 16 kms from the town of Nannup, which is a popular tourist attraction for nature lovers, cyclists, motorcycle enthusiasts, walkers & sightseers, the cabin is far away from city stress and has magical views.

Known to the locals as "Kookaburra Cottage" because of the nightly birdsong serenade, it should really be called "McCubbin Cottage" as the walls are adorned with the famous and moody bush paintings by this much-loved artist.

Relax on the spacious verandah as Mother Nature does her best work at sunrise or sunset - you might be enjoying the experience with kangas, emus, ring-necked parrots, blue wrens, kookaburras - or perhaps the resident geese or alpacas! The Blackwood River meanders through the 10-acre wooded property & there are nearby bike trails & walking trails aplenty.

You'll enjoy starry nights inside & out - leave the bedroom lights on for half-an-hour before retiring then check out the twinkling stars overhead!

The cabin has a comfy King Size Bed; double sofa-bed; electric blankets; reverse-cycle A/C; overhead fans; gas hot water system; well-equipped kitchen with gas stove-top, electric fridge, microwave, mini-electric oven; electric BBQ; TV/DVD player; books, games, cards, movies & private under-cover parking.

The cottage is totally self-contained with private lockbox entrance plus access gate & steps to six tranquil acres of Fern Gulley Retreat communal land on the banks of the Blackwood River.

We provide towels, bed linen, doonahs, blankets, clothes hangers, tea, coffee, long-life milk, crockery, cutlery, pots, pans, some toiletries & cleaning products; some basic grocery supplies; selection of books, games & DVD's; area maps; & a comprehensive printed manual on cabin facilities & local attractions. The on-site caretaker can be contacted in emergencies.
